After removing and completing all the carb cleaning via the tips and posts from fellow XS'ers here which by the way where very helpfull. I found one question that really bothers me. I was reading the thread Jet Facts list for models and year. I have a 1980 XS1100LG Midnight Special and the facts list says that I should have a 110 main jet for 1 & 4 and a 120 main jet for 2 & 3. So I went to check the jets that came on my carbs to make sure that I had the same and found that all of my main jets where 110 for all the carbs. Since what I have doesnt match the facts list should I replace the main jets for 2 & 3 with 120's before putting the carbs back together?

Yamaha seemed to mix & match at will. I've seen all 4, 110, 112, 115 or 120's. And mixed 110-115, 115-120,110-120. The standards usually are all 4 the same, specials a lot of times have the 2 inner carbs/jets a little bigger so those 2 cylinders run a little cooler. Also check your emulsion tubes, some have more holes than others,(air holes not fuel) more holes go on the outside carbs, again to keep the 2 inner cyl. cooler. If you have stock exhaust and air filter, I wouldn't worry about the jets you have. I would base my decision on spark plug color.79 F full cruiser, stainless brake lines, spade fuses, Accel coils, modded air box w/larger velocity stacks, 750 FD.
79 SF parts bike.
