The rear brake hose on my 78' E needs to be replaced. This item is discontinued by Yamaha. What are the options for replacing this hose? I have found some mastercylinders and calipers on ebay that come with the hose but is a 30 year old hose any better that what I already have? Let me know what the options are!! Thanks!!

A 30 year old hose is not likely to be any better then what you already have. Factory manual says to replace the brake hoses every 4 years. Other then going SS I'm not sure what your other options are. Myself I would go SS if itr's in the budget.
I'm sure others will pipe up with some additional options

I think they were 15 degree bends on the fittings. It was pretty easy. Make sure you order some copper crush washers. You need 2 washers per fitting. They have everything on the Dennis Kirk site. Fittings, hose and crush washers all from Goodridge. For the angle of your fittings, just examine the factory ones and best match to the descriptions that Goodridge offers. As for the length, I am 99.9% sure it was an 18 inch hose and I routed it through the same two hose clamps on the frame.

ss hose
SS hose is nice but it is to expensive for this project. I only want to fix this hose to sell the bike. I would like it to be safe though for the next owner. If I was keeping this bike SS would be fine but can't the the cost of SS just to sell. Need more options!! Will any hoses from late model bikes fit?Dan ( A.K.A.- MacGyver )
