i just bought a AGM battery its the first seal gel battery i bought for a motorcycle and with the reviews i been reading, i will never use acid again~~~

Both gel and AGM batteries work much better in a motorcycle application because they can withstand vibration better than water filled batteries. It's my understanding that they also hold up better under a deep discharge.

My experiences with gel batteries are that when they begin to fail, they do it rapidly without much warning. I have had 3.

I have not had much experience with gells. I have never had problems with Acids. They are simple enough. Just keep them charged and water topped off. Then replace them when they go bad. I know this probably won't happen, but I am paranoid of sealed batteries because they might explode. I know a normal vented battery will not build up pressure unless the line is blocked. Even then the line will shoot off before the battery bursts open. I used to have an exploded battery sitting on the driveway. I can't rember how it happened.

AGM is not a "gel" battery.... those were a bad variant of the standard plate/insulator design.

                        Hi Hobbyman,
a co-worker was looking out our office window & lusting after the pretty girls walking to the cafeteria. "Herb" I said "we have lived through the golden age, and it is over."
"And when was this golden age? he asked.
