  • Carb Jets & Needles

I have been reading all the posts about re-jetting when you make modifications to the exhaust & air intake, so I was wondring how do you read the jets n such to determine what you currently have? also my manual says I have #115's in #1 & #4 and #120's in #2 & #3 why are they different? According to the thread about jetting I gather I would need to up my jets to #130 in #1 & #4 and #135 in #2 & #3 if I am going to run 4 into 2 exhaust with open headers & individual filters right?

'80 & '81 XS carbs ran bigger jets on the inside cylinders for cooling. If the jets are made by Mikuni, they have their size stamped into the top.

If you have "over 40" eyes, you may need a magnifying glass to see them.
