how do yah remove the fork plate under the front light?

the photo above shows it removed all ready with the forks on , i been trying too remove the Yamaha name plate bracket to remove the old wiring harness because the sockets from the harness will not clear the fork plate and fork bracket , I don't think i have too remove the forks because this photo shows it has been removed. there no screws or bolts holding it on?

      yes,

On Specials, fork tubes have to be slid down, then headlight ears and nameplate come off.

The Standards didn't have the fork plate. Only the Special did. You can remove the upper half of the triple tree, slide the fork ears up(after unbolting the turn signals from the headlight bucket), and then slide the plate up.
