It has come to my attention that the 81 xs1100 lh has some of the same brake parts as my xj1100. i have a list and most items are still around at the stealer but wondering if there were any aftermarket places to help save cost.
First off i need that sensor for the front master cyl for brake fluid. and its discontinued
i would like to get rebuild kits for both front and rear m/c maybe im not looking in the right place but i checked ebay, and cyclebrakes.com and no luck found a bunch of xs stuff.
need front caliper rebuilds had mine apart cleaned them good put them back to gether they still stick but they dont leak. im thinkn i just need new o-rings problems is yami only sells it with the pistons for 55 a piece.
i found the rear on on ebay fairly cheep, its my biggest problem right now. an 81 xs1100 lh will fit it from the information ive gathered. so ill be getting that.
carb boots are a no brainer goin ebay for those yami cant touch 93 shipped for all 4. i might get 2 with gaskets if im really nice to them but they want mula dollars for theirs.
if anyone has any leads on what other front caliper rebuilds fit an xj1100 or m/c rebuilds fairly priced let me konw. if anyone makes a kit to rebuild all the brakes like i have found on ebay for the xs1100's that would also be great since ill be buying all the junk anyways. let me know and thanx for stoppin!
btw all this for inspection sucks, the guy i bought this bike from was a joke i have since found out the way he took care of this bike and got burned. its sad to say it would be cheeper to sell it cut my loss and buy something else but not everyone can afford new and frankly this bike when im done will be pretty darn new after i redue the damn tranny. hope it will pass without 1st gear. put 200miles on after i bought it and 1st went out sounds like a bent fork or the dogs are thrown.
another quick question when i had my clutch apart after putting a new one on i noticed there was a lot of slop where the clutch goes. that shaft had a lot of play front and back when the bike was in gear. almost a 1/3 turn either way. never noticed it on any other bike ive worked on but when you shift you can feel the same clunk if you dont time the clutch. is this normal or when the tranny comes apart will it be something to inspect further?
