anyone interested in Xj1100 project bike

I have a nice 82 XJ1100 that has the engine removed. It was removed to repair the starter clutch last summer. I ran out of time and will have no time this year to put it back together. The bike ran very well for me for 2 years and I've put a lot of time and money into it but I have to move on.

It has Dunlops with about 3000 miles on both, rebuilt carbs (run great), original seat and exhaust (good shape), rebuilt front master cylinder, tombsone style windshield (looks just right for the bike), leather saddle bags... It's pretty nice.

Running it would probably be worth about $1500-$2000. I'm looking for someone who wants to dedicate a weekend or two to putting her back together and riding it.

Is $1000 too much for a project bike? If so, I'm willing to go negotiate but I'm not at the point where I'm desperate to get rid of it. If you're interested, I'd suggest taking a look and making an offer. Who knows, at some point I may take a lowball offer of $600 just to get rid of it. So you can see, I'm reasonbly flexible. I just want the thing on the road with someone who really likes the breed.

Good chrome, original red paint on tank (tank has a couple dings and dents but not bad), about 36,000 miles, have extra parts. If you intend to "restore" the bike to all original condition, I can tell you this is not the bike for you. It's set up for pod filters and the windshield mounting required drilling the headlight ears. Also, the seat is original but I've unstapled the cover and removed about 1 1/2" of foam in order to lower it sligthly. The cover went back on and looks original, but I want to be clear about everything.
