This morning, I started working over the front brakes. I have new SS hoses I'm putting in place. Got both front calipers done, no problem.
Then the front MC... that's a different story. I got it down to looking at the circlip boot. Kept going back up stairs to look for how it comes off. I finally kept pulling harder & harder till it started ripping apart. Once I got the pieces out, I could see that there was a light clip holding the bottom of the boot was rusted and wouldn't give. I really had to pull to get it out. The circlip itself is WAY rusted into place. I've tried to soften it up with blaster, but everything that fits down that far will bend before that circlip will move. I finally got pissed and ordered a new MC from PartsNMore. I figure if its that rusty (and the spooge hole shows lots of rust through it), I might as well save myself some trouble.
Once that shows up, I should have a front end again in no time.
I guess I'll spend the rest of the weekend cleaning up a bunch of small parts. Perhaps I'll even start re-installing the rear brake. Just as soon as I go outside and move some snow around....
