    no power

I was riding my 81 midnight has been running great. Turned it off when I turned back on started fine died and has no power at all. Am I right power goes from switch to headlight then to rest of system?

    Re: no power

Nope. The headlight is on its own circuit. Pull the headlight fuse and start the bike if it will just to see. This is the time of year when batteries can be suspect. They may look OK by putting a multimeter across them after a charge, but quickly drain-off that skin charge. Remember too that idling will not provide net positive charging. Batteries have been known to short-out. The brain box needs like 10.3 volts to provide spark.

PS, if you have NO power, it is likely the main fuse or its connections.

Your main fuse for the models you are listing below your name will have a main fuse separate from the fuse box. It will be under your seat near the left side cover. 30 amp.

I think it might be time to clean all of the ground connections, but it is difficult for me to give advice on electrical while on line. It is something that I am only halfast good at if I am in person. Someone else chime-in here?
