  • Odyssey Batteries

I'm a long time lurker and first time poster.

I bought the recommended Odyssey battery (pc680mj) for 80 sg special but could not make it fit. It's just a little bit too tall. I checked the specks on the pc680. It's a little shorter but not recomened.

Anyone have experience with this type of battery and should I try to make pc680 (no metal jacket) work?

    Luv this site!!!!

    if it fits

I got the same type battery for a project and it has awesome cranking power. if the non metal jacket fits. I would highly recommed getting it. you can mount the sealedbaterries however you want and they don't leak acid all over your frame....my 2Cntz

I just put one in my 79F standard. It fits in there, but I do not have the plastic base tray. I didn't have a problem with the height. It is shorter(lenghtwise) than the standard Yuasa that I had in there before. I used a piece of 1x2 to keep it from sliding back. Maybe your special battery tray is different from the standards?
