  • Carb Boots...

    I just bought a set of carb boots on E-Bay for my 1982xj1100j. does anyone know of anything that i can spray/coat them with to help prevent weather cracking. any ideas would be great. thanks! -Joe

    if they are nos, they should last 2 decades+ without any special attention

      Hey Joe,

      They are rubber, and Ozone and heat does put age on them! I would think either using some Plastidip(liquid rubber) as a coating over them, or even some black silicone RTV slathered on the outside might work well.

      But even if they get weathered on the outside, they are dual layered and usually don't leak thru to the insides anyways, just cosmetic!
