  • rebuildable shocks

when they say that, does anyone even rebuld them, and can it be done at home or does it need to be taken to a shock shop,so really they are not rebuildable right? just a catch phrase to make you buy it to begin with...

    Nope

I have the Marzocchis on my 650 rebuilt twice and the Konis on the 11 have also been rebuilt.
The Marzocchis are easy the Konis a little more tricky, but you can do it.

IS there a good way to compress the spring to remove it? I need to de-rust mine.

3/8" all thread and a little flat steel bent to make hooks.
One for each side of spring.

In the 80's and early 90's it was THE standard way to cure a japanese motorcycle chassis.
So, yes they are pretty good, or better were. The company still exists, but they don't make motorcycle shocks anymore. They sold all the equipment to a australian company. That company sells the shocks under the brand name IKON.

                    Thanks

Thanks SG-Olli for the reply. The parts bike I bought has a set of Konis on it, they appear to be in good condition and not soft, I want to put them on my 78E, there now on a 79 Special....thanks again
