Engine bearing info?

How thick is the crankshaft at the rod journals? By how much do the thicknesses of the bearings increase? My main bearings look worn but the machine shop says this is normal. They are probably std. What should the dimension of the main journals be to use black bearings instead of blue?
Two of my rod bearings are ruined. Should I buy a full set of rod bearings?

Hey Mort,

Here's a couple of threads with info that John posted about the measuring process, but no specific values. Yamaha uses a strange quirky way of designating the sizes. I haven't had the time to research this very far yet. Ken had posted some pictures from the Yamaha manual, but the links are dead He's planning a trip soon, but maybe he'll see this and have the time to repost the photos here?
