  • Rear Wheel Drive Hub Nuts

Looking for some values on the drive hub nuts on the rear wheel.
There are some conflicking values depending on which drawing you look at. One drawing I have says that they are to be torqued to 14 ft/lbs and another from a Climer manual says 40 ft/lbs. I would suspect that the 40 ft/lbs is correct but I would like a second opinion if I could get one.
    Thanx

Considering the purpose of these nuts, I would dare say 40 ft.lbs is correct.

Like the ones in my avatar ? Yes, 40 ft lbs is what you want.

        Thanx guys,
I knew I could count on an answer quick
I had the wheel completely stripped for new paint and clean up the outer rim edge and was putting it together last night and ran across this discrepency.
I have a manual for an XJ (as that is the engine I have in mine)and in it the drawing of the back wheel shows the nuts only set to 14 ft/lbs, and I also have a manual for the 78 XS and it said 40 ft/lbs, I figured that 40 was right but thought better ask the best
