  • Replacing left side crank seal...help?

So, I finally got my cases split today and repaired my starter clutch. Now I need to replace my left side (and probably right wouldn't hurt) crank seal... Now, how do I get the hardware off the end of the stupid crank so I can replace the seal?

Here's a pic of what I'm trying to get around:

    1979 XS11F Standard - Maya - 1196cc (out of order)
    1978 XS11E Standard - Nina - 1101cc

The piece in the pic is the governor assembly. It should come off with some light prying, and rocking it side to side with light blows from a small hammer. It is not bolted on once the timing plate is unbolted.

Should have removed while engine still in bike.
If you have yet to remove goodies on the right side......
      could be fun
