  • '80 XS11 Value?

I have a near perfect 1980 Yamaha XS1100 Special with 13,7xx original miles on it. It has just been serviced with a new air filter, battery, oil and filter change, etc. The bike is 100% original except for the windshield. I have had a couple of offers of $1400 which seems a little on the cheap side for the bike. Any ideas of what I should ask for it?

If it looks as good in person and has no mechanical defects, I would bet you might be able to find a buyer for closer to $1800 or $2000.

Considering it's Jan 5. I think $1400 is a fair price. Hold out till June and you might get $2000, IF you can find the right person. I've also seen them go for $2500. My 2 pennies. Good Luck

...yes I have, and have responded on the Member's Lounge, AND sent a PM to bjs65mustang... 'haven't heard ANYthing from him...

...and I guess I like the '80 XS11 'cause I've got two... I'd like to have more but it seems like bjs65mustang is looking to get BIG buck$ for this bike... I love my '80SG but I wouldn't pay what this guy seems to be looking for - for a 27 yr old bike...
I picked my SG up for $350 (it only needed a front tire), and the LG for $200 (tranny problems, but I've got the parts...)

If I were to plunk down several thousand on a bike it would be for the (newer) Yamaha FJR1300...
