  • CIR-CYCLE Clutch Springs

    Hi,

Are CIR-CYCLE High Performance clutch springs any good? I would like a heavier clutch on my 79 Special and saw these for 10 bucks.

    Thanks,

    Hey Nemisus,

A link to these clutch springs would be helpful!

However, you can get heavy duty springs from many sources.
Have you seen the tech tip on putting in an extra steel plate to help really tighten up your clutch?! It's in the tech tips FROM THE MAIN FORUM PAGE....not the yellow column links! Look in Mods, Engine.

          Interesting read!

I found this info on a search for circycle products, it's a comparison of HD springs for the 650, but might still be pertinent to your decision on whether to get this brand, or another!?

I replaced the stock springs on my 1975 Honda CB750 with those springs and I'm very happy with the result. It makes the clutch lever a bit more of a challenge, especially at stop lights, but it eliminated all clutch slippage, especially at high rpms.

I just put a set of them on my 1100F, but I haven't had it out for a ride yet. I had some petcock and float valve issues to address first - and a lot of gasoline to mop from my garage floor. Now 'm just waiting for some nice weather to take the bike out for a good shakedown cruise. If the results are anything like the results on my Honda I'll be very pleased.
