  • lost: one little black plug....

ok, somewhere between here and Door county is the plug for the front of my camchain tensionor....

I understand this plug is a source of worries for many XS owners so i was expecting a tech tip about the subject, but no luck

so whats the deal? make a new one yourself? cut apart swmbo's kitchen gloves for raw matierials? a hardware store fix? or is the solution somthing boring like order one from your local freindly yamaha dealer?

    thanks in advance

The plug is still available at Zanotti's.

Many people have fabricated their own from corks, sticks, or JB Weld.

It is like 12 bucks from your local stealer. Simply a rubber covered metal plug . . . like a very small freeze plug.

If you decide to do your own, be careful about cramming jbweld or rtv into the hole . . . the rod for the cam tensioner slides around in there, if you glue it in place it will not move properly when you do your cam tension adjustment (you DO do that yes?)
