goldcoastguy, Hey I like the job you did on the XS11 as well. May I add that I couldn't help notice another one of my favorite Yamahas in frame, the 550Vision. They have that strange trailing front axle. Cool bike(s) and great work.
Cheers, 50gary

Actually, the seats and batteries are all inside the house for warm, dry storage.
Yes, that is the frame for the SH restoration project. If you look real close, you can see it is sitting on top of a restored LG. You can also make out one pile of blue rubbermaid tubs full of parts. There's another pile in the basement, and right now the motor is on the workbench in the basement. Next step on it is putting the cylinders back on with the Wiseco kit.Ken Talbot

Ken, you have a good, understanding woman there! Kathy sends me out of the room if there is even a hint of carb cleaner...OK, maybe it isn't as bad as that, but I can keep my hands to myself! You and Sheila have happy holidays and new year!

Hey Ken, how much do Wiseco kits cost in Canuck land? They cost about US780 here in Oz.

I believe they are around $400-450 from Weisco themselves. I paid $350 for mine a couple of years ago, and I bought it from an independent bike repair shop. The machine work cost was $160. When I was finished with the job I had $900 tied up in the engine. I replaced the clutch and springs, bought a new gasket set, and timing chain, had 1st and 2nd gears undercut at a machine shop, and replaced a set of rings (that I broken one from), and replace one complete crank bearing.
