How Valuable is this Web Site?

We were just there two years ago, in Eureka Springs for an XS rally!! Had a great time. I am willing to go back.....why don't you consider hosting a rally in your neck of the woods? I hosted my first rally this year, XSEast 2002, lot of work, but well worth it!!

Best thing since sliced bread

I have enjoyed the ever improving evolution for several years. I think it was back in 95 while searching for vetter fairing parts I found the old site. What an improvement it is now!

Priceless indeed! I've been lurking and learning and occasionally kicking in my two cents worth for over a year and a half now. Started riding again after 20 years. I could not have had The Dark Horse road worthy as quickly as I did without the support of the XSives. In fact I probably would have passed up the opportunity to purchase my XS100SG had I not researched about it on the internet and found this web site.

The abundance of information I gathered here encouraged me to rescue and restore The Dark Horse. I've been smiling and riding ever since. Again, a million thanks.

How Valuable is this Site???/

I am a very proud owner of a 1979 xs11sf. I purchased it may of this year for $650. I had it on the road in about a week after geting the forkseals done and new tires. Over the summer I have found I also purchased with my bike a few gremlins ... after bugging most of my friends who ride and have some knowledge in bikes.. I found out that they did not know as much as they claimed too ( go figger lol). I was too the point of taking my bike to a shop to get fixed.... then I found this site on the internet... most of my gremlins could be removed through the knowlege that I found here.

I can say one thing in regards to how valuble this site is to me. PRICELESS .

I have saved many headaches from going to a cycle shop and getting the mecanics look at it and charge me three arms and two leggs to fix what I have learned here to fix.

I found the web page and the old list(s) back in the spring of '99. First of all I was looking for information, as I didn't own an XS or XJ at the time, but had decided to get one. Remembered them for the days they were new and I was on my Honda CB 450.....

At first it was the technical information and parts sources that I used most. However, I got lucky as my XJ didn't need a lot of work, mostly TLC and routine maintenance.

Turning point for me was really getting to my first rally, June 2000 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Met with many people whose names were familiar from the list, including Gary Granger, Bill Bowman, Rick Jamison, Bob Garcia, James Dille, the Applers, the Hansons, and many others.

I had always ridden 'small' bikes for commuting and local trips. The XJ and this group gave me the confidence to take on longer trips.

I still pay attention to the tech tips and parts sources, and tend to post on those lines as well, but, guys and gals, if you really want to enjoy your XS/XJ, get out to a rally or two and meet the people behind the names and avatars.

That has been the biggest thing for me...taking the trips, meeting the people, getting on the road. Invaluable!

Hi fellow 1100 riders. Of course this site is great. A couple of years back I picked up an 82 xj1100 because it looked great and had all the features needed. After pouring over the old xj site and this one the info. our "elders" have poured their time and souls into. These bikes are so great and unique that the site should live well into the future....I hope we all can keep a ton of these bikes alive so when ours ever dies I can get another. It'sso much fun to burn the newbie twin cruisers with our "antiques" I grin for a week each time I do it.....mike in san diego

it's worth a lot

Though I have manuals for all of my bikes, I always come to the online forums for additional information. I could not have made the progress I have on my bikes without the XS11 list and Honda XL list (www.xlintperformance.com).

That's what the internet should be about.

And considering all the great friends I have made here and just having fellow XSives to talk with...

Who else is going to listen to me blab about this old bike?
