You can use the ears from an XS 750, or 850 Special. I'm not sure if the 750-850 Standard is the same though. I have 850SG ears and bucket on my bike.

thanks john, yeah i think i'm going to convert to the rounds on my standard, so only the special would apply, did the standard 750 use square headlights?

I went to the yamaha parts page and both '79 XS750 S and SF models had rounds.

yes but i think the standard had shorter ears less raked out, the special put the headlight higher, showing more legs i mean fork legs.

            Ya know

If you get rid of that fugly gas tank, square gauges and long ass mufflers, and replace them with Special pieces, you'd have a really nice looking bike..

I removed the fairing from my 78E and mounted the headlight from a special. All the parts came from ebay. The special ears were too long to fit between the triple clamps, so I shortened them by grinding, carefully. Hope this helps.

Well i used to agree with John ,,Specials look great

Thing is the Clocks ain't got the Fuel Guage and it's nice to have one

The pipes are nice on a Special no getting away from that

European Standard Gas Tank is what you want for even more capacity !!

extra half gallon i think ?? gives it Monster looks too !!
