I'm sure it's not as big a deal to the rest of the crew here as it is to me, but I just replaced my (desperately needed) front tire and I am blown away at the difference in handling!! Got rid of the Metzler (it served me well...was on the bike when I bought it) in favor of a D404 Dunlop. I swear...it's like I'm riding a completely different bike! Effortless steering and holds its line like its on rails now. Doesn't hurt that it was on sale, either!

Good choice Mike.............I'm runnin' the Metz in a 3.25 instead of a 3.50 or 90 series(puts speedo dead on), and a 404Dunlop rear..........the radius shapes are fairly identical and the Metz Laser loves water, sticks like glue, and wears like iron.........bike carves effortlessly!...........Just a reminder to all, Goodyear owns Dunlop and has been on strike, so if needing Dunlops, better get them before end of year as come spring there's gonna be some dissapointed riders cause atomotive tires are gonna take priority and already being several months behind lottsa' folks gonna have parked bikes or riding on bald tires. This came from my local Honda dealership where I get as good a price as any web site. Have bought two extra(Dunlop 205 radials) for the ST and two(Metz and Dunlop) for the XS for when they come due to be re-shod. The 404's seem to be in good supply, as quite a few don't realize they are just as good as the Elite II for a lot less money, and load rating is just fine for any fully loaded dresser out there(Honda's VTX1800 comes shod from factory with this tire, which answers any weight question). Lotsa good choices out there.........just don't get caught short, plus cost increases after Jan. 1!!81H Venturer1100 "The Bentley" (on steroids) 97 Yamaha YZ250(age reducer) 92 Honda ST1100 "Twisty"(touring rocket) Age is relative to the number of seconds counted 'airing' out an 85ft. table-top.

I have been running a Metzler Laser front and a Metztronic rear for awhile. I like the perofrmance and they wear very well. I have run dunlops before but that was awhile ago before their new tread designs came along. The Metzlers definately outperformed the old-style dunlops but I must admit I am leaning toward Dunlops when I have to re-shoe next year.Mike Giroir

Once you un-can a can of worms, the only way to re-can them is with a bigger can.
