XS/XJ Exhaust Question

Anyone know if the header pipes (not mufflers) from an 84 XJ1100 Maxim will fit a 79 Special?

XJ has different engine cases than the XS, and muffler/header pipe routing is *slightly* different. My impression is that the XJ pipes run a little more to the outside of the engine. Should fit at the head, though, and if you are fiting a 'custom' exhaust this shouldn't be a problem.

Have not verified this, but will measure the 'spread' (distance apart) the pipes are at the muffler joints on my XJ if this will help you.
