  • billet starter buttons install ?

    i got these two buttons in a baggie
    that came with the bike they are billet
    aluminum and the starter button is missing on the bike anyone know how to install these?
    any pics?

    Hey Ricks,

    I can't find any photos, but the handlebar switches come apart from the bars in to two halves. Then, in the bottom half, you'll see the button, spring, and contact, IIRC there's a little screw holding it in, unscrew it and you should be able to pull things out to allow you to push the button thru the hole and out, and then put the new billet ones in, and everything back in! Check for corrosion on the ends of the spring, and the contact area, the switch case where the parts contact the housing, clean as needed to ensure good conductivity from wires thru button to bars, ground!

      Are you sure they're starter buttons? In a K&L carb kit you will get caps to cover the air pilot screw on the top/front of the carbs but nobody uses them. They look like what I think you're describing.

        you can restretch the starter button spring also....those billet buttons are very nice....chop
