    I didn't realize these bikes had elctrical fuel regulators in them.

    YAMAHA XS1100 XS 1100 FUEL REGULATOR METER ELECTRIC NEW(#290044947322)

    I guess we learn something new everyday.
    1979 XS1100F (runnin the wheels off it)
    1979 XS650 (ran the wheels off it)
    1976 CB550F (ran the wheels off it)

    Doug, that's the voltage regulator for the fuel GUAGE. The meter uses 7 volts, the regulator reduces the 12-14v down to 7

          You can use a solid state VR if you can find the correct input/out voltage. They are about as big as a nickle.

            Or you can use an LM317 that you set the output volts with two resistors.
