thanks for the diagram, you wouldnt know by chance what would not make the fuel gage work would you? I havent ohm-ed out the sending unit yet, but dont know if I could find a replacement if it was bad.

If your sending unit checks out, then more than likely it's the regulator unit, little black box mounted under the tach. They are no longer available, New (nos) ones command a high price. ($70-$80). Don't ask me how I know!

There is a troubleshooting guide in the Clymer's book that will help determine the fault.
