And as usual, when I travel, I always carry "Ken's Float Post Removal Tool". Obviously, too late now, but also carry JBWeld and fingernail polish to seal it up with.

totally unrelated, did someone here by any chance buy the 1980 Midnight Special that was on Ebay, Original Owner, 24,000 miles, ran and all, went for $910. gotta admit, If I'd seen that before I bought this, I'd be cleaning that bike up

If you search completed items on Ebay (have to be logged in), I think it's still there, had some salt air corrosion, but all in all, one sweet bike

i went 4 times with my carbs this past spring, and i am constantly impressed with what these machines are capable of, there is a 79 special on craigslist in the valley for 400 bucks, you may scavenge some parts there, i live near pasadena
