    the seats will bolt up
but the 80 seat doesn't have the plastic tailpiece like the 79
the 80 tci unit is bolted to the inner fender
the 79 is bolted to the top of the rear fender
    there could be clearence problems,
other than that it will fit
just have to make sure you are not pinching the tci unit
but hey a couple hits with a ball pean on the seat pan and you have clearence

One problem with putting an 80 seat on a 79 is the fact that the bottom of the seat pan will hit the 79 sidecovers. If you trim the pan to clear, then that problem goes away. The TCI can be remounted forward, and then everything will fit and work.

        thanks guys

the 80's seat looks a little more modern, but i just re-read the article that it is a wider seat to clear the frame and though lower, will place the feet futher apart making it harder to touch the ground, i'm a shorty at 5" 7" 32 inseam, so that may be a prob, so for now no mods, but thanks for the info as always

but i do want to sell my s and w shocks with dual progressive springs, anyone know their worth?

I don't have that problem. 6 feet 1, plus close to 400 lbs to mash it down nice and low!!

            But it's a slim 400.
