  • calipers to fit an XS

I got some nissin 4 piston calipers $100 as on 90's gixxers and blades, maybe best with a blade/gixxer master cylinder, although my XS has steel lines. Figuring a bracket to fit the XS11 forks, just the right holes in the right places, so should be easy then huh. yeah right. These others, late model fireblade radial calipers, was told I could have them for $500, thanks but no thanks, thats 1/2 the price of the bike

Hi, I have the same calipers and also plan on making up some brackets for them. It is not a priority for me though as I'm still rebuilding the engine at the moment. If you get it figured out before me then give us a shout..

I was thinking that the master cylinder from the GSX or the Bandit would probably be the best as those models retain the thread for the wing mirror.

    Good luck..

Hi guys, another point is The Bandit will have the M/C as a one piece unit and proper angle for tube type handle bars. I had to make a bracket to mount the R1 type resevior which was more work added. I use bar end mirrors so I don't miss the conventional mirror mounts. Best of luck on your conversion(s).

Just a note on my R1 fork swap; I ran into a small problem, the steeering stem on the XS is slightly smaller than the R1 at the point it's pressed into the lower triple clamp even though the lower bearings are both 30 mm. I had to have the XS stem spray welded and ground to be a press fit into the R1 lower triple clamp. Ah well nothing is ever easy?
