  • Standard and special exhaust.

I have a beat set of 2 into 2's. I don't like the 4 into 1 look. I have searched the threads and cannot find one stating if the standard exhaust will fit the special. Can some one tell me?

the standard exhaust is longer, and it lays level and flat with the ground
the special is shorter and I believe it is upswept in the rear

I can see the differance with the sweep. But will they interchange?

.. they do interchange, but you will have to get creative with the muffler mounts[where your rear foot pegs mount].
if you have a bad set you can saw off the mufflers and add slip-ons.

.. after looking at the two, it looks like you will have a real problem putting the Special exhaust onto a Standard. the large cast aluminum brackets that hold the mufflers up are considerably lower and will not except the shape of the upswept Special style exhaust.
so you can put the Standard exhaust on a Special without too much hassel but not vise-versa.

GNEPIG, I have to call you on this one. My 79' STANDARD came with SPECAIL exhaust on it when I got it from the PO. The mufflers and pipes were rusted beyond saving after about one year. You will have to change the exhaust studs, as the standard are about 10mm longer.
