  • Handlebar risers

    Howdy all,
I'm taking a tank from an '81 and putting it on my '79 SF. I shortened the seat a bit, but now there's the problem of handlebar clearance. I spoke to a few people who did the same mod, and they say that they balpeened dents into the tank so the handlebar could move- I would rather not do that! I imagine that I could solve the issue with some hanldebar risers. Any suggestions for source to obtain these? Any and all help would be greatly apprecciated.
    Cheers,

that second set from ebay look to be a little better quality, maybe.
You might check with your local machine shop to see how much they could pop a pair out for you. Then you could get the exact height, etc, that you wanted.

Make sure that your cables and brake lines are going to reach. My brake line was tight.

Funny you should mention HB Risers.

This is the other item that I have been thinking about getting into to fabricate, fairly simple design from 1" thick plate. I should be able to make them considerably cheaper than the $109.00 a set!!!

Just curious how many other folks might be interested in getting a set?? The amount of plate stock needed should only cost about $10.00!! Then just need to get the long metric bolts.

                      Hey Mike,

Like you said, "set"backs not shown. I should have been clearer in stating about making the SETBACK kind, not just the straight up kind, and that web site, are fairly cheap and readily available!

                        Hello TC,
Just wondering if there was enough interest to manufacture these lately.
some of us old farts still like low bars/clubmans but can't lay over the tank for as long as we use to.
                        Regards,
                        Tom
