  • Need a timing plate (degree wheel)

I am searching for a timing degree wheel for my 79 SF. You will not believe this but I had it off while I was cleaning the advance mechnaism and my dog took the degree wheel and ran out into the yard with it. Little thief! I have look everywhere but to no avail.

I think it is Yamaha part # 2H7-81672-11-00 and is probably a dealer item.

Does anyone know where I could find one of these, used or otherwise, since I am sure the dealers want big bucks.

You could disect each pile of poop if it is a BIG dog, or you could dig up each "grave" where it looks like the dog could have buried it. I have a place near Trinidad Colorado where a Pack Rat ran off with my hidden door key.

As long as it doesn't hit you (are you ready for this?) top-dead-center!

                Thanks for the help, guys.

MRO, the $ are on the way.

Now that I think about it, I believe my dog took the lawnmower too.

                  3rd Degree...

Can I take off the timing wheel and ride without it? Mine's got serious shakes (bent badly from PO's left side skid) Just untill I
can procure a decent one + cover. (could be a while as 11 spares are more difficult to come by than rocking- horse sh!t)

The timing wheel and screw retain the advance mechanism. I think if you put some mild steel washers between the socket head screw and the advance mechanism you'd be OK. I'd be a little leery to ride with the pulser coil assembly exposed, though.

                      Hey Tad,

How's about getting or borrowing a metal detector and scan the back yard for it??
