Tkat Fork Brace

I have been reading through the forums, and many talk about the Tkat Fork Brace. Is it noticeably effective? How hard is it to put on. Is it helpful for a naked bike (no fairing). Is it expensive?
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Yes, easy, yes, no.

Yes, it is noticably effective.

Easy to put on. About five minutes with an allen wrench. Very high quality machining.

Yes it helps a naked bike.

Last I heard Tkat was charging around $80- for them . . . for the quality and effectiveness of the part that is cheap.

I concur with Danny's assessment.

This one's easy, Bruce. Even if I didn't have one, I'd vouch for Danny's credibility as an authority on just about anything! I got my Tkat fork brace a couple of months ago (not to mention nicely done buttons for the starter and horn). It made a new bike out of my Special. Very stable. I paid $85, including shipping. It was money well spent.

I think you guys have sold me. I really don't know what to expect in the handling, but it sounds exciting if it will improve the ride. I am 6'3" about 225. Is it Tkat.com or something like that?
I figured you might have to take the forks apart. I like the easy assembly part. Thanks and I will let you know how it works for me.

I got one on my 81 special, and the sweet start / horn button. I would advise a fork brace on any motorcyclewithout one. Tkat is a fine machinist, respected xs'ers. and and interesting writer. Get one of his fine braces and you will not be disappointed.

Instructions

The fork brace dosn't come with instructions, but it is very easy to install and looks like it could have been an original part from the factory.

Step 1. Push the dust seals up on the tubes.

Step 2. Install the fork brace.

Step 3. Push the dust seals down onto the fork brace.
