Recently took a fork to my mechanic/racer buddy to get a seal put in (because he's done it a million times and it probably would have taken me half the day).
He was done in no time, however after a fair amount of pounding he was unable to get it all the way in. He decided to leave the washer out which gave him the needed room to put the circlip back in. Said it would not be a problem.
Anyone see a problem with leaving the washer out??

This microfiche view does not show a washer between the seal and the circlip. It does show one up higher in the assembly.

Will it leak if the seal is not seated properly? It usually takes a fair amound of pounding to get mine seated. Some michofiches seemed "schetchy" when it comes to part assembly orders.
