Fork Seals for an 80' XS?

Hey there, just curious about something. I hear plenty about how difficult changing fork seals can be. My seals had "bled" oil all over the fork, and the brakes!(oh yeah, that's fun). The fork is now dangerously hyper-active, and has no dampening at all. What is the expected costs of the seals themselves and average install price at a shop? Brakes also need help now. Just got the bike and now the fun has really begun! Thanks for the help ladies and gents!!!

If you are not truly mechanicly inclinded do not attempt,more bad than good can be done. seals are not a major cost(nothing wrong with aftermarket)shop time will not be a major expense,call for a estimate(yamaha dealer will have a flat rate for seal changes most of the time)as long as there is nothing else wrong,such as bent tubes or dents or pitting in tubes which greatly shortens seal life! hope this helps......Will
