I'd look for some good used ones.
Just one is more than I've paid for whole bike

80/81 specials have sloted rotors and will fit

You say you want brake discs.... but are showing the prices to the CALIPERS. Which one are you looking for? Or am I reading that wrong?? PM Andreas.

Try your hardest to be the kind of person your dog thinks you are.

You can live to be 100, as long as you give up everything that would make you want to live to be 100!

The names of the exploded diagrams (aka "fiche") are from Yamaha.
The part numbers are correct, but I had the Front, Right DISC quantity incorrect:
          "Front Brake Caliper" (fiche)
1 ea. 3H5-25831-10-00 Left DISC, BRAKE
1 ea. 3H5-25831-00-00 Right DISC, BRAKE
          (pad set: 4w1-w0045-00)

The "10M" number on the "Rear Brake Caliper" (fiche):
          10M-25831-50-00
tells me that it might only be made for the '82 US version of the bike. Is that right? ... anyone?

I did check out MikeXS.com - the fronts are cheaper. They look different than the originals on my bike, but what the hey, if they fit?!
I have to wonder about their dimensions - thickness, diameter, offset from their attachment points and the like.

Fronts should not be a problem to find.

Rear does have different pre-fix and could be different enough that only a 10M disk will work properly.

MAXIMAN or John in texas may know for sure

The Maxim calipers are different in appearance than the XS's, but I think they are the same dimensions internally, i.e. the caliper piston size is the same as the pistons on a Standard, (all three calipers), and the rear on a Special. If you need some calipers, I have a few that need kits, but the I think the pistons are still available. I'll go check on that in a few minutes. I have some in the garage.
Duh! After re-reading the post, I realized that he was looking for rotors, not calipers.Sorry.
Anything to increase the post count.

Hey, has anyone needed to replace their rotors?

                John,
Thank you for the info on the calipers, too!

Hey, has anyone needed to replace their XJ rotors?

What did YOU do about obtaining (new?) rotors?

                Thanks,

                  Eh,

I have a 80 xs1100 and a 82 xj1100, the only brake parts that interchange seem to be the rotors.....the mounting set-up is different, on the front forks, same with the rear.....the master cylinders are different too, due to the way the xj does front and rear at the same time through a proportioning valve.....
