    Need a seat cover!

I have a seat like the one in the pics that Paul Sabre has. After sitting in the PO's barn for six years, once I started riding it the stitching is starting to tear. Does anybody have a line on where I can buy a new seatcover for it?

Thanks in advance, you guys are my heros!

For a few buck$ more, check you local yellow pages for an upholstery shop that could use your old cover as a pattern to make a new one.

I got a new seat cover from Old Bike Barn for my 78E. I think it was around $75. Was relativley easy to put on. They had a couple of options for texture etc. Have put around 10K miles on it and seems to be wearing ok.

What is the name of this seat.

I have checked the different places and all of them quote me for the original flat seat. This seat was bought by the PO from the dealership when he bought the bike. It is a dealer upgrade. I need to know what this seat was called. The different seat places keep asking me and I don't have a clue.

                  Bill,
I think you have an aftermarket tour seat. I have one on "daily ride", and took it to a shop to have it repaired. I do not know of ANY place to get an after market seat cover. Most of the opnes listed have been for the "stock" Yamaha seat.
You can check the bottom of the seat for a plate with a name and serial number. That will tell you who made it, but will probably NOT help with a new cover. My seat was built by E-Z Berg, but as they are out of business, no covers available.

Marty, was that seat a stock special? Am thinking of doing the same thing. What did you do about the foam. I have a couple seats and the original special is not nearly as comfortable as the one I usually use. Foam is too soft. Did you have them put it together or did they just make the cover for you to install. Does it fit nice and tight? Questions, questions!

                      SARGENT SEAT

I sent SARGENT a 1980 seat with a duct tape cover. They were instructed to retain the stock 1980 shape (I like it). I had them install their GRIPTEX cover and their "ATOMIC" foam. I'm not sure if I remember the name of their upgraded foam correctly. They sent the seat back to me in a few weeks. GF thinks the seat is too hard, but it's not nearly as hard as the CORBIN seats. To me, it's nearly perfect.
