  • Pathfinders Bike For Sale

It makes me sad to have to do this but I am selling David's bike. I can't ride the bike and David would never forgive me if I let his bike sit in our garage and never be riden, he would want someone riding his bike. I think David would rather I sell it to one of you guys because he knew that you all would take care of it and treat it as he did.

This bike was his pride and joy. As most of you know, David tore down and put his bike back together on his own, with some help from friends and a lot of support help from a lot of you guys. This bike was his baby and I would like for someone in this group to have first chance at it.

1978 XS11, Maroon color. Most of you know what excellent shape his bike is in. My asking price is $2500.00, as you all probably know, I know nothing about motorcycles. I only know that David put a lot of money into his bike and had really just finished a few months before he passed away. Most of you have seen his bike, I don't know how to do all of the things that David did on the computer or I would have posted a photo.

Again, I would like to thank all of you for being such a big part of David's life, he was so happy when he was with you all, his family outside of this family. And I would also like to thank everyone for all of the beautiful things said about David. He was a wonderful man and we miss him so very much. Thank you all, Cynthia Delzell (Pathfinders Wife)

This is the first that I heard of his passing. I am sorry to hear of it.

I don't know he ever said it directly or not. After some idle threats from my wife ("If you ever wreck, your done riding"), I told her that if anything ever happened to me, to offer my bike up here on the forum as well. It says a lot about not only our love for these old machines, but our respect for the love that other XSives share for these bikes as a whole, I would want my to go to some one who would care about it the same way I do. And, that someone is most likely someone here. Having seen his bike and learned from Pathfinder, I know that the bike is probably worth much more than that in what went into it alone. I hope another XSive here can find room in their stable.

He replaced the stock seat with a King and Queen.

          Another Pic of Dave's 78E

Kinda weird, but here is a pic of his 78E on the day of his funeral.

Here you can see the new seat.
