  • Tail light cover

I have been cleaning-up the 1980 XS1100G which I purchased 5 days ago. I noticed above the license plate and below the tail light there is a gap in there where the wiring for the tailight is exposed.

You only notice it when you bend down to look below the tail light. Is there suspose to cover that goes over that area? I looked on PartsFish and it didn't show one.

It seems that area should be protected from the elements. I would appreciate any help. Thanks, John

John, There is no cover for that. The water that gets in will drain out the bottom of the tail light assembly. Just clean all the connectors, and use dielectric grease on them when you re connect them.
