  • XJ11 Handlebar adjustment

Has anyone adjusted their Maxim's handlebars outward (wider bars for better leverage). i thought this would be possible, however there seem to be tabs underneath the bars which seem to demand only one position. Am I looking at this wrong? Has anyone ground those tabs off or been able to adjust bars out? Also anyone have an easy way to determine correct middle gear fluid (even visually). I'm thinking of doing that tomorrow. Thanks for your help!

don't know about your handlebars tho.
I did change out my 80G's bars for a one that's wider and sits back another inch or so. Much more comfortable, can sit up a little straighter .

one could pull the upper parts outward so that the splined inserts were only half way engaged, and insert a spacer, you could get about an inch wider each side I suppose
