Found the most likely cause of no charge on my XS11SG to be the red wire Mr. Stupid had trapped under the coil clamp and it's insulation finally wore through.

Tore off old harness to replace with another one but that one's plug-ins are all different so solder & shrink-sleeve & re-tape the existing harness.
But it's been a while and where do all the plug-ins go? Refer to Clymer's & to Rob Mills' CD. Oh boy, contradictions.
CD's B&W wiring diagram (the helpful one that shows actual sketches of the plug-ins) & Clymer's wiring diagram both show the red/yellow wire to the iggybox
tapped off the fat black wire between the starter solenoid & the starter.
CD's coloured wiring diagram shows that red/yellow wire tapped off the +tive battery terminal.
So which one is it?
Please?
Anybody?
