  • Entire Exhaust replacement

I have read a lot of post about replacing the Muffler, however I need to replace the header pipes on back. What do you guys recomend for a replacement. I am not wanting to spend to much money. as for Sound stock to a little bit louder and deeper is prefered.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Wes,

Unless you get lucky and find a decent set of NOS or used ones on EBAY, you'll need to plan for $300-400 for a complete aftermarket set, and there aren't many options left, Jardine, or MAC makes 4-2 and 4-1 sets. The chrome is single walled, and so it colors fairly quickly, either gold or blue depening on your tuning!

Someone on Ebay also sells the new MAC sets, or do a search on the NET, Dennis Kirk, I think old bike barn, etc!

              Wes,

IIRC someone posted about the Standards having shorter exhaust head studs vs. the Special/XJ's, so you could have trouble having enough length to be able to secure the flanges. The muffler should have an adjustable bracket to attach it to the frame/footrest mounting place!
