XS1100G orn SG

I just bought 2 XS1100s. One has an extra side cover that says Special but i need to know if the VIN number will help me tell if these bikes are the Special or regular models.
Anyone have any ideas ?

Yes, the VIN will tell you which models you have. Just click on the Specifications link on the left of this page, and then you'll see a link for serial numbers. That will tell you what you have.
