I've never actually seen the sissy bar that would go with this seat.

My XS came with an aftermarket carrier rack, that can take a backrest but there is no backrest, and a trunk. Think the trunk may be a Shoei, like the saddlebags, but not really sure.

Is the sissy bar you have part of the grab rail that goeas around the seat, or is it a seperate unit? I hae no problem with keeping the seat I have if I could get the support for it.
Nice day, if it doesn't rain...

I think this would replace the grab rail? Or maybe it's for a Standard? Don't know for sure. I do know that it won't fit my 80 Special. The seat would be supported bu the bar. Hope this helps.

For that backrest, I am not sure how to tell if it will fit my bike w/o actually seeing it.

Is there a part number or anything on it? It would be great if it would work with the seat I have.

Really kicking myself that I got the bike apart before taking any 'before' pictures of it to show people. It needs serious TLC!

Does the 79 bar fit the 80? Seems to me they are different?

              Crazcnuck:

No, it does NOT fit. The guy (liar) who sold it to me said it would, though.

Oh well. I am still in the process of doing the top end, so I have until the snow melts in march or april to find all the other little parts I need.

I don't have parts to trade, but I would be interested in that seat/sissy bar, for the right money. Any intrest in selling ouright? My seat is badly torn and sissy bar is broken.

I have a sissy bar that a guy said would fit my '79 and of course, it doesn't. Wonder if it will fit an '80?

Are you looking for the stock seat rail for a 80g? If so I can tell you that they are about as rare as hens teeth. I found a NOS rail for a 79SF which looks like the one for the 80g. It fits a little tight around the stock 80g seat, makes getting the seat on and off a bit of work, but it does bolt on. And I personally like the look better than stock one.
