Looking for a few items

Hi there, have a 1980 XS1100 std I am trying to TLC!

I am looking for a set of case guards and the carrier rack, mine are very rusty. Looking at rechroming, but not sure how well that works. I would prefer a carrier with the movable backrest.

Also need a set of type 2 lowers to go with my windjammer IV.

I have a set of Shoei hard bags w/ trunk, mounts are also quite rusty, and one bag lid is missing. Not sure if it's worth trying to fix these or just go with Vetter bags?

I am alos interested in the stock seat. the one on the bike has the tall backrest built-in, but unless the trunk is on, there is no support for it.

If anyone has any of these, or has any ideas suggestions, I would approeciate hearing them. I am new to the XS1100 family and would like to find out all I can about it's versatility and options!

Few more odds and ends I need:

side covers w/emblems, or just the sidecover emblems, tank emblems.

Exhaust system. This bike has a 4 into 1 with a car muffler tacked on. Looking at the MAC 4 into 2 turnout set, but it's not in the budget right now. Almost prefer a stock set if anyone removed thiers to put on headers.

The ones on the bike almost look like they were rechromed once before and the chrome is coming off in chunks!

I have a decent used stock pipes off of a 78e xs1100 Stock pipe back past heat shields their cross over removed and two chrome slip on mufflers replace the stock mufflers. $140 Cdn price includes shipping to you. andreas

So this set is complete from the head back? What kind of slip ons?

I assume the original mufflers rotted out?

Do you know why the x over was removed? Just lets me know a little more about the condition.

Yes a complete set of exhaust for a standard. Front to back. Chrome pipe is not dented up or rusted out. Ususal road grime from use visible side is cleaner than non visible side. I sell used xs1100 parts have no idea why PO cut off stock mufflers. The slip on chrome mufflers are a good quality aftermarket part. Mount in same position as stock ( alum rear footpeg mount) PO did a nice job on the pipe cut fit for the mufflers is nice without a clamp. No welds cracks etc decent driver quality. This stuff will last long time.bike showed 68,000 km. Was a nicely cared for machine. I assume just wanted a nicer sounding muffler. No road rash or crash damage on bike. andreas

Ok, Exhaust, and Case Guards taken care of.

Still looking for:

Side cover emblems
Tank emblems <- I assume these are screw on? or adhesive?
Seat, one w/o backrest or good base cheap, to recover.
Type 2 lowers for Vetter fairing
Backrest for aftermarket carrier rack (round tube) or whole carrier.
Breather for rear differential housing
Left handlebar switch assy (H/L beam, Headlight, 4-way flasher)
Kickstart pedal


I bought a much better Windjammer IV, and a new windsheild for it, for $100. Cylinder head, Gasket set, Manual, and Cam chain are OTW.

Hopefully, I can get it on the road before it snows, then look at painting it over the winter.

I also have the tall seat. I have the chrome "sissy bar" that goes with it. It came off a 79 Standard. Would like to trade them for parts to fit my Special. Especially looking for an adjustable backrest for my existing luggage rack and other items. Anyone else help? Thanks
