looking for a decent engine for 79-82 xs 1100 ...mine is a 79 std and healthy.. i've been putting some miles on it this year..i'd like an extra so i can build a beast and not put it in bike until it's 100% ..then i have almost no downtime....i'm in atlanta area ...It would be nice to find one within a short (maybe long ) drive from here....that way i can look at it ...pay for it ..take it home.....if it is attached to a (project bike)it would be OK but i really don't need any other parts at this time ....i'm sure somebody on this site has something that would work...i would just rather see it in person before i shell out the cash..thanks stevo

well i'm really bummed ..it's been a day since i posted and not one reply ...obviously i meant 78-82 xs 1100 engine..i'll pay real money ..i suppose if if i lay back and wait till middle of December someones priorities will change...but i sure would like to go ahead and get one now..i don't mind driving 3-4-maybe 500 miles to pick it up...i keep checking local traders and sale ads and haven't seen one yet...please help me out..

I have a 78 motor out of a standard w/approx 17 k miles on it that I would sell. I've never heard it run and don't know any history of the motor. If you are interested I can look it over some more. I'm pretty far away though, SE PA.

I have a 78e engine 40,000 miles or less. Oroville,wa 98844 on a major east west truck route approx 130 mile north of I90.Ask your truck driver friends if they haul this way etc. $250.00. andreasComment
