  • Aftermarket soft saddlebags

    Hey everyone,

I recently discovered this site and am thrilled with it.

I want to buy a set of soft saddlebags but need some saddlebag supports for them. I haven't found any specific to my XS and was wondering if anyone knew if there was a substitution that I could use. I was able to easily find supports for newer Yamahas but want to avoid purchasing some that won't fit right or that I have to modify to use. I plan to continue looking but thought that I might take advantage of some of your expertise and experience. Any help that any of you could offer would be greatly appreciated.

I've used Cortech saddle bags for years and they've worked great for me. I just throw them over the seat, hook the straps around the buddy pegs, fasten a strap behind the seat and go.

They've got a good size main compartment with zippered side compartments. There are protected plastic buckles on each bag which makes it easy to attach a seat bag to them.

As I recall I do use them backwards since the rear turn signals on my specials are a bit too far forward but I've never needed a frame to support them.

        Hi ya Eat@joes

May not find new brackets specific for XS
XS is a little long in the ""tooth" for manufacturers to be making things for them now.

Welcome to XSland, post a pic of your ride if you got one.

        btw, I eat at Anna's

A panda walks into a restaurant, sits down and orders a sandwich. He eats the sandwich, pulls out a gun and shoots the waiter dead. As the panda stands up to go, the manager shouts, "Hey! Where are you going? You just shot my waiter and you didn't pay for your sandwich!"

The panda yells back at the manager, "Hey man, I'm a PANDA! Look it up!"

The manager opens his dictionary and sees the following definition for panda: "A tree dwelling marsupial of Asian origin, characterized by distinct black and white coloring. Eats shoots and leaves."
