I have posted some pics of my new-to-me 80G if anyone is interested. I have had it about a month. It had been stored in a dirty environment, but under cover, for about 2 years. It had stale gas in it and a good layer of crud all over it. It needed electrical work on the lighting. It had been in several repair shops over several months with no solution. I had it solved and repaired in about 4 hours. The last shop had returned it to the PO in several pieces. I replaced rear wheel bearings and battery, went over the brakes and put in many hours of elbow grease. It still needs some detail cleaning, but it runs great. BTW, the purchase price....$100.

My other bike is an '80 Kawasaki KZ750H1 LTD. Runs great too, but not like this XS!

              Yep, it's an 80G

Yours doesn't look bad, there are a lot of places on mine that need TLC and don't show in the pics.

In short time I've had XS's, have tried forward controls, floor boards, full vetter set up, just front fairing, just wind shield, and right now trying out rear controls.

Like stock best, wind shield and maybe set of soft bags and pegs on crash bars.

Seat on my 80G needs to be redone. Rode up to Woodland yesterday (95 miles one way) and back. Major pain in the a$$ after about an hour.

The floor boards came with the bike and they are kinda nice on the highway. They are a little close for me since I am 6'1", but still a nice change from the pegs when my legs and back need rearranging. Now if I could just find a throttle lock that would work with the wrist-rest grip, I would have it made. I have looked at the AudioVOX cruise control too, but I'm not yet ready to fork over the cash. Any suggestions?

PS. In the spare parts that came with the bike, there is a Vista Cruise Universal throttle lock, but I haven't come up with a way to make it work.

                          "Please, be seated."

Is that the stock seat for an '80G? (I've got one in the garage and always wondered what bike it came offa and if it was stock)
Will this seat also fit '78 and '79? (not lazy... well, Ok, I am, but looking at the seat pictured, am curious right now)

                            Hey Prom,

That double bucket thing is NOT the stock seat, it's probably a TRAVELCADE K/Q, I've got one on mine right now, you can see the photos in another thread by CREW in this Forum, looking for seat!

BTW, I'm thinking it will fit a 79. Mine has the more pronounced angled pointed cut/shape down the side where it goes across the side panel for the 80/81 series. This one appears more flat there.
