    front caliper removal question

Is there only one bolt that holds the front caliper in place? I removed the nut but I could not remove the caliper. Thanks

    What model BIKE????
The Standard has two bolts holding each caliper, the special has one.

On a special there is one bolt holding the caliper to the fork. The bolt comes up from undreneath and threads into the fork. The nut you removed is a jamnut to keep the bolt from loosening.
