anyone have on of these they will sell?

This came off of a 1980G.

This is what the whole assembly looks like.

I will buy the whole cap, fork, or whatever. If there isnt't any for sale, what can I do to replace the brass fitting. The previous owner destroyed the other fitting and I am in a bit of a time crunch. Thanks

I don't have one, but I do have a quick-fix suggestion. Couldn't you get a plug that threads into the tube cap and just bypass the air functionality entirely - you know, make it like a standard if you are in a serious time-crunch?

Also, Bikebandit shows these as being about $20 each - I believe ths is part 26 in the diagram if you look at the front fork diagram for 1980 XS1100SG

      BB part # is 299822-001

I have good news. I checked the parts from yamaha and they are the 12m style. I did manage to find a suzuki at a salvage yard and bought the front forks from it. Finally after a month, I am back on the road. Thanks guys. AHH a sigh of relief

Actually this is his son, Andrew. And yes we got it after a month of searching and phone calls all over the country. Thanks again.

No problem, always a good thing to recieve phone call from teh "lower 48" over bikes LOL- build up a little good will here and there, and when you really need a part- you can find it!

So, you are making that thing show perfect then? Total OEM correct restore? You got some pics of that thing?

SO far everything is OEM perfect. If I find a good day to take some photos I will. The only thing not oem is the seat cover. Everything else is stock. I have a 79 spedo which I corrected the mileage to match, but I will probably put it on another 80G I might pick up to keep this one stock.

I've seen Andrew's bike. It is quite nice, and it has the original exhaust on it too. His Dad has a couple of nice 79 F's also.

I have a spare one learking in my garage somewhere but with the way things are, you'd have to come to Oregon and help me dig for it to have a chance of finding it.
